Crested Butte is chock-full of things to do and enjoy throughout the year. A short list for the adventurous and active set includes hiking, biking, downhill & cross-country skiing, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, river rafting, rock climbing and more. For those who want their fun, relaxation & enjoyment without the sweat, choose among an endless array of activities such as strolling among the town's art galleries and diverse shops; enjoy the contrast between CB’s rowdy old-west bars and the town's colorful Victorian homes; take a driving tour through the four valleys which branch out from Crested Butte to marvel at the surrounding mountain scenery, lakes and winding rivers; see for yourself what the term “fall colors” really means if visiting in mid-late September; photograph nature’s shameless and prolific display of wildflowers in July; gobble & guzzle at will as your inner gourmand selects among dozens of CB’s well-known restaurants and watering holes; or, during ski season, snuggle up next to our fireplace, enjoy that book you've always been meaning to read, and gaze out our front window watching the snow fall or skiers drifting down the slopes. Finally, you can always laugh and participate in one of CB’s unique festivals which are sure to amuse young and old alike.

Speaking of festivals, December festivals include Kids' Night Torchlight Parade, and the New Year's Eve Celebration with Fireworks. January features the classic Winter Carnival and Butte Bash College Ski Week. Come in February for an unforgettably imaginative and snowy Mardi Gras celebration. March boasts the Extreme Boarderfest and the state’s best spring skiing. Crested Butte's ski season winds up in April, culminating in a wacky celebration to flush out winter through a perennial favorite CB festival known as Flaushink.

Summer brings a new face and revitalized energy to Crested Butte as the townsfolk thaw out and come out of hibernation. The annual Fat Tire Bike Week is generally in June. July is the peak season with the Crested Butte Music Festival, Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks, annual Wildflower Festival, and Alpenglow Concert Series. August brings the annual Festival of the Arts, Crested Butte Ball Bash, a golf tournament, film festival and mountain bike race series.

Fall is Crested Butte's best kept secret. In September, join in the fall festival Vinotok -- the very entertaining and offbeat celebration of autumn, or take in the Paragon People's Fair, a road rally and mountain bike tour. One of Colorado's consistent number one ranked "Best Fall Drives" is along Kebler Pass which starts at the west end of town. People from all over the country come to photograph and paint the fall colors on this road.

"Crested Butte has a reputation for world class alpine views, hiking, wild flower viewing, fishing, & mountain biking. It truly deserves that reputation and more. I am pleased to say that all of my expectations were exceeded and at an extremely affordable price."
